Camden Public Library Events March 17 through March 31

Thursday, March 17

The Midcoast Audubon Society will host naturalist Doug Hitchcox, presenting “Bringing Nature Home,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. As habitats become fragmented, our backyards, large and small, are increasingly important areas for birds and other wildlife. The talk will look at the importance of using native plantings to provide food and shelter for our insects and birds. Hitchcox is the Staff Naturalist at Maine Audubon.


Sunday, March 20

Dragon Farm Salon hosts “Maine’s Advocate for Women,” Eliza Townsend, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.


Tuesday, March 22

Leer y charlar is Read and chat, a Spanish-language discussion group, all who are proficient in Spanish are welcome, 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.

Free film screening, “The Century of The Self,” a documentary by filmmaker Adam Curtis, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, hosted by the Camden Philosophical Society.


Saturday, March 26

“Simply Books” Club, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome. Simply bring along whatever book you’re currently reading and share it with the group!


Tuesday, March 29

The students of Interact Club will give a slide talk on their recent trip to Central America, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Interact is a division of Rotary for students ages 12 to 18 who are interested in addressing community needs through hands-on service. The Camden Interact group traveled to Guatemala to assist Safe Passage, an organization that helps at-risk families in an impoverished neighborhood in Guatemala City.


Thursday, March 31

Tim Seymour will present a slide talk on the John Muir Trail, the “premier hiking trail in the United States,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. The trail starts in America’s treasure, Yosemite National Park, and continues 211 miles through the Ansel Adams Wilderness.
