HAMPTON, New Hampshire – The Thomas College field hockey team defeated Plymouth
State University 3-2 in a non-conference game on Sunday morning. Abigail Dunn scored two goals, including the go-ahead goal in the come from behind win.
Dunn
scored her first of the game in the first minute of play, but Nicole
Burgess scored a pair of goals two minutes apart to give the Panthers a
2-1 lead with just seven minutes gone by. Burgess had a chance to tack
on another goal late in the half but Brooklyn Curry made a defensive save along the goal line.
PSU maintained the advantage until midway through the second half. Thomas evened the score in the 52nd minute when Curry set up Erica Blake
for a goal, and Dunn pounded home her second of the game a minute and a
half later and that proved to be the difference in the game.
Goalie Abbie Charrier made nine saves to earn the win in goal for Thomas. Alivia Bates finished with five saves in the Panther net.
The Terriers will be back on the field on Wednesday, September 23 in a non-conference game at Bates College at 7:00 pm.
