THE BREAKFAST CLUB 30th Anniversary Celebration to screen at Strand on April 2

Rockland, Maine - A re-mastered release of the iconic movie The Breakfast Club, along with a 30th Anniversary bonus retrospective, will screen at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street, on Thursday, April 2 at 7pm.

Considered director John Hughes’ most memorable and recognizable work, The Breakfast Club defined a generation of pop culture and included such talent as Molly Ringwald “the prom queen,” Anthony Michael Hall “the geek,” Emilio Estevez “the jock,” Judd Nelson “the trouble maker,” and Ally Sheedy “the outcast.”

This 30th Anniversary release includes the newly remixed bonus content featurette titled The Breakfast Club “A Retrospective" that features personal insights from cast members as well as contributions from filmmakers Diablo Cody, Amy Heckerling and Michael Lehman.

Movie Synopsis: Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal (Paul Gleason). The disparate group includes rebel John (Judd Nelson), Princess Claire (Molly Ringwald), the outcast Allison (Ally Sheedy), brainy Brian (Anthony Michael Hall) and Andrew (Emilio Estevez), the jock. Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently -- and when the day ends, they question whether school will ever be the same.

Total running time is 115 min. Rated R. General admission tickets are $12.50.  For more information on all upcoming live concerts, films, HD broadcasts, and events at the Strand, visit www.rocklandstrand.com. Tel: (207) 594-0070 Email: info@rocklandstrand.com.
