Augusta, Maine - Old Fort Western’s 26th -annual Winter Lecture Series will continue Sunday, February 10th, at 2pm with Ernie Plummer, President and Archivist of the Kennebec Historical Society, who will speak on the collections and resources available at the society. His lecture will be followed by Tom Desjardin, historian for the Maine Division of Parks and Public Lands, who will speak about several historic sites in Maine, including Popham, Swan Island, Reuben Colburn House and Fort Halifax.
This lecture is free to attend and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided and donations to The Old Fort Western Fund are always welcome. All donations collected during the series will be used for Old Fort Western’s educational programming and special events -- which are held at the fort and are free to the public. Following the lecture series, our next special event will be Maple Syrup Sunday on March 24th.
