UPDATE 10:56AM: Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a three vehicle crash on Rt. 1, near the intersection of the Stirling Rd. in Warren this morning at around 6:20. Apparently, for a reason not known at this time, a vehicle driven by Kenneth Chipman III, 57 of Warren, travelling northbound crossed the centerline. The 2017 Toyota sedan collided with a southbound 2007 Toyota SUV driven by Evan Aurelio, 32, of Winterport along the driver’s side, spinning that vehicle around and then Chipman struck head-on into a 2008 Land Rover SUV, driven by Cheryl Brimson, 67, of Rockport. John Brimson, (husband) 68, also of Rockport was a passenger in the vehicle. Kenneth Chipman III and Cheryl Brimson were killed instantly. John Brimson was taken to the hospital by Warren Ambulance and Aurelio was checked at the scene by EMS and released after being interviewed.
Knox County Sheriff’s Office response team is currently mapping and reconstructing the crash to try to determine a cause. Road remains closed.
Warren and Waldoboro Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
Rt. 1 shut down, 2 codes reported, one vehicle on fire according to Knox County Sheriffs Office, Ambulances requested from Thomaston, Waldoboro for what appears to be two people.
