Winter Weather Advisory: MORE WINTRY WEATHER ON THE WAY FOR NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND

...MORE WINTRY WEATHER ON THE WAY FOR NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND...

.SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST ON TUESDAY. AS WARM AIR ENTERS THE REGION ALOFT, THE PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON OVER SOUTHERNMOST NEW HAMPSHIRE. THIS TRANSITION LINE WILL GRADUALLY
MOVE NORTHWARD THROUGH WESTERN MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE TUESDAY NIGHT.

3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE, WITH GENERALLY SLIGHTLY LOWER AMOUNTS OVER SOUTHERNMOST NEW HAMPSHIRE AND COASTAL REGIONS AND MORE SNOW AND SLEET ACROSS THE INTERIOR. 

4 TO 7 INCHES OF SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE ACROSS NORTHERN AREAS. 
A LIGHT COATING OF ICE IS EXPECTED MOST AREAS AS WELL, WITH MORE ICE, UP TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH OVER WESTERN NEW HAMPSHIRE.

A FEW LOCATIONS MAY BE SLICK DURING THE TUESDAY MORNING COMMUTE DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF LIGHT A COATING OF SNOW IN SOME AREAS.

HOWEVER THE TUESDAY EVENING COMMUTE WILL BE PARTICULARLY TRECHEROUS DUE TO THE SNOW AND MIXED PRECIPITATION. ALLOW EXTRA TIME WHEN TRAVELING ON TUESDAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAY HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW, SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 6 AM EST WEDNESDAY.

* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW, SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 3 TO 5 INCHES...ALONG WITH
AROUND A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE.

* TIMING...TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT.

* IMPACTS...TRECHOROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS, ESPECIALLY DURING THE
  TUESDAY EVENING COMMUTE.

* WINDS...EAST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...STEADY OR SLOWLY RISING IN THE 20S, THEN 30S.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
