The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow..which is in effect from 10 AM Thursday to 2 AM EST Friday. This upgrades the Winter Storm Watch priorly in
effect.
* LOCATIONS...Downeast Maine.
* HAZARD TYPES...Snow.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 to 12 inches...with highest totals along the Washington county coast.
* TIMING...late Thursday morning into Thursday night.
* IMPACTS...Heavy snow and strong winds will create very hazardous traveling conditions. Occasional blowing and drifting snow will cause near whiteout conditions at times.
* WINDS...North 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* TEMPERATURES...7 to 21 above.
* VISIBILITIES...one quarter to one half mile or less at times.
