Rockland, Maine - The Rockland harbor park waterfront was lined with people who came out on Sunday, August 3rd to see dozens of young and old complete in the annual crate race. It was a great day to run the crates under sunny skies.
This year saw a two way tie between Scarlett Flint, of Warren, age 7 and Harrison Page of So. Berwick, ME age 9 both in the Feather Weight Division. Each ran 6,500 crates when it was decided they would share the World Championship called due to darkness. Finn Kaeyer of Owls Head ran 6,400 crates also in the Feather Weight Div. 6,500 crates is a new record for this annual event on Rockland's waterfront.
Duncan Widdecombe of So. Thomaston, age 12 in the Light Weight Div. ran 5,100 crates. Duncan was last
years overall winner with 2,000 crates.
No other results are available at this time.
It looked like all who ran the crates had a great time. Will a new record be set next year? Will be a new champion? We will find out so enough.
