SET FOR JUNE 23 AT WOLFE’S NECK FARM IN FREEPORT
Historic saltwater farm to host 8th-annual fundraising event
Guests invited to experience Freeport with special hotel rates

Freeport, Me. – In addition to fine food and drink from Maine’s top chefs, restaurateurs and mixologists, a large part of what makes Taste of the Nation Maine so memorable each year is a spectacular setting. The all-volunteer event committee has announced that for 2013, Taste of the Nation Maine will be on Sunday, June 23 at Wolfe’s Neck Farm in Freeport, under tents in a pristine field with stunning views across Casco Bay.
Wolfe’s Neck Farm is a non-profit organization and working saltwater farm dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture, education, and outdoor recreation while preserving its 626 acres of open space and historic buildings. Its programs educate both children and adults about sustainable agriculture and connect them to the natural world.
Share our Strength’s Taste of the Nation offers an unprecedented opportunity to sample the finest foods, spirits and wine from some of Maine’s most noted restaurants. Now in its eighth year, Taste of the Nation Maine is the premier culinary benefit that raises critical funds needed to end childhood hunger in the state.
This year’s setting provides the perfect opportunity for guests to combine Taste of the Nation with an overnight stay in Freeport. For the first time, members of the Maine Innkeepers Association are offering special rates for Sunday evening for those attending the event. Details are available at strength.org/portlandme.
Tickets for Taste of the Nation® Maine are $125 for General Admission and $200 for VIP, which includes a reception. Tickets are on sale now at strength.org/portlandme, or call 1-877-26-TASTE. Thanks to the generosity of participating restaurants and our sponsors, one hundred percent of ticket sales support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in Maine. Taste of the Nation® Maine is sponsored by Hannaford, PowerPay, Stonewall Kitchen, Maine Magazine and Bill Dodge Auto Group. In 2012, Taste of the Nation® Maine raised more than $170,000 for this important cause.
