Forts and Fairy Houses Workshop‏

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Create a forest dwelling! Merryspring invites children and families to participate in a free forts and fairy house workshop on Sunday, August 19 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.

The fourth and final session in a series of free summer workshops, Forts and Fairy Houses Day will take children and families into the woods of Merryspring, where they will be able to create forts for humans and fairy houses for mystical creatures. Using all natural materials found on the Merryspring grounds, children can let their imagination be their guide as they construct forest homes. A special emphasis will be placed on ways to responsibly gather materials and build in an environmentally sound manner. Liza Gardner Walsh, local author and librarian, will be selling and signing copies of her book The Fairy House Handbook, as well as offering tips, tricks, and fairy lore.

For more information on this event or any upcoming events, please contact Merryspring at 236-2239 or info@merryspring.org.

Merryspring is a member-supported, non-profit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Rt. 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden.
