Brunswick, Maine - The Maine Department of Environmental Protection will hold a public on the application submitted by the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority for a Storm Water Management law permit. The permit application is for the construction of a passenger train equipment layover facility located in Brunswick, Maine.
The hearing will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. at the Brunswick Golf Club, 165 River Road, Brunswick, Maine. The hearing is open to the public. The daytime portion of the hearing will be devoted to receiving testimony from the parties (applicant and the interveners). The evening portion of the hearing beginning at 6:00 P.M., will be devoted to receiving testimony from members of the general public.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive testimony from the parties and the general public on whether the proposed project meets the relevant statutory and regulatory licensing requirements. The statutory and regulatory criteria associated with the Department's review of this license application are: Storm Water Management law (38 M.R.S.A. § 420-D) and the Department's rules concerning Stormwater Management (Chapter 500). Testimony at the hearing is limited specifically to the relevant licensing criteria (stormwater standards, including, but not limited to, basic, general, and flooding standards). The licensing file associated with the proposed project is available for public review by arrangement during normal business hours at the Department's Southern Maine Regional Office located at 312 Canco Road in Portland, Maine.
